I was born in Dubuque, Iowa, located in the rolling hills near the Mississippi River. After being raised a hard-working farm boy on my family’s dairy, I attended Iowa State University with degrees in Advertising and Writing.
After graduation I worked in TV and radio, in production and advertising sales, where I worked with business owners and wrote ads. But soon thereafter, a sales position for a heavy underground construction equipment manufacturer brought me to the Pacific Northwest, where I had a choice of living in either Portland or Tacoma. I chose the South Sound for its location and beauty.
After several years in the construction sales industry in Western Washington, my independent spirit reared its head and I began my own construction company, with the main focus being residential remodels.
In 1999, I obtained my real estate license in Olympia, where I fell in love with the industry and the area. Quickly, real estate became my focus, my passion, and my full-time career. And I’ve never looked back.
My wife, Karen—also a seasoned real estate pro—and I reside in Olympia where we raised our two kids. Joshua graduated from Olympia High School and is now a seasoned Army Ranger in Spec Ops, stationed in Ft. Benning, GA. Ally graduated from Capital High School, and is currently studying pre-law at the University of Washington in Seattle.
When I am not selling real estate, I enjoy writing, running, biking, hiking, and anything in the great outdoors. Being about an hour away from the Pacific Ocean or Mt. Rainier, there is no shortage of adventure in my household. Want to know more about me, or more importantly what I can do for you? Call, text, or email me anytime.
